I have known Avery for a couple of years now. She lives in Philly and came to have her 2 year portrait made, so we went to the pumpkin patch where she could see all the different kinds of gourds. Avery is going to have a new baby brother soon, so this may have been her last solo session with me. I took special joy in capturing Avery’s pony tail since she was bald for our first couple sessions, and now she sports a proud sprout. I grabbed a few from our session that I just had to share!

This is my gorgeous sister, Laura, and today is her birthday!
I made these photos a while ago when she was helping me to practice some lighting techniques. I love the one above, but the one below is how I see Laura (Lars, to me). She is always pleasant (as long as you don’t talk to her first thing after she wakes up), kind, generous and understanding. She’s an attorney, so she is also super smart, in addition to being beautiful. Happy Birthday, Lars! I love you!!
For those of you who are so inclined, these were made using a 24-70mm lens at 24mm, F/4.5, 1/250 (max sync speed).
My flash (just a 580ex) was triggered by Pocket Wizards into a 36″ umbrella at 1/2 power. (love those pocekt wizards!)
