The new year begins with a big adventure for the Bee, as I am driving across the country. We hope you follow our adventures on Facebook, where will be posting some updates as we can, but here is a little background…

My mom & dad have pretty much had it with the winters here in the north east, so they will be spending the next few months in California. I thought it would be fun to help with the driving, and so we decided to pack up the Passat with the 2 dogs and their antique cat, and head west! And so the adventure begins. Now this is where I usually post a picture, and I don’t have anything appropriate for this post, so I’ll leave you with this, just because it’s so cute. After some examples, and instruction, we will head out to put our new infomation to the test and sharpen skilz. For this class, no special gear is needed. I will be taking my phone, and giving the dSLR a well earned rest.

Each Saturday afternoon 2-3pm, and Tuesday evening 6:30-7:30,  you will find us hosting classes on a variety of topics from composition, to lighting – posing to post production.

Topics for our FIRST CLASS, Saturday, 11.12.11 include an introduction to landscape composition, and because our weather looks cooperative, we will go out and about for some experience with the lighting conditions of full sun, open shade and broken shade. We will also talk about lens selection, and help with questions regarding equipment.

Topics for Tuesday, 11.15.11 include shutter speed and a taste of night photography (weather permitting).

For all classes, you will need to bring your camera (of course), and have a BASIC understanding of how to use your memory card and move images from the card to a computer. If you do not know how to do this, we will have separate classes available to show you how. You do not need a DSLR, however, you will probably want one once we get started. Very good DSLRs are NOT terribly expensive and we will be happy to help you find a camera that will meet your needs and grow with you. The camera does not make a great photograph, the photographer does. We will even have ‘cell phone photography’ days, so don’t be intimidated.

In addition to the weekly classes, Full-Day workshops, which will cover requested topics in greater depth, are planned for early spring.

All our topics, times and pricing are subject to change. Classes are designed to teach a variety ot subjects to help you make better photographs. We will not be teaching you how to begin your own photography business.

I created a few differnt wall collections, too, that I though I would share with you. Wall collections are specially priced and range from $99-$175. They include the printed image collection that I design along with the actual image files so that you can print more, if you wish. I can order frames for you, or you may shop for your own. They can also be converted to float wraps, standout prints or canvases (additional fees apply).
