When I attend services at Orchard Hill, I can’t really imagine a wedding there. It’s not a traditional chapel, and it is currently under construction for expansion. I love the message and the music at this church, and was quite honored to photograph the first and only wedding in the worship center in 17 years. I knew from attending services that the lighting capablilities of the space were quite extensive, and was really looking forward to seeing what had been planned. The details of the ceremony were a gift from Rob to his bride. Just thinking about it makes me well up a bit. While the lighting was dynamic, it was kept very dark and romantic.
I have photographed dozens of weddings in very large, dark churches, but nothing quite prepared me for this truly candle lit ceremony. I’m not sure if the lighting was as challenging as fighting to see through my emotion. As I edit the images, I wanted to share just one with you. Such a beautiful moment. I’ll post more and share the details when they are ready.
